The first day of competition at ESL One Birmingham 2026 has wrapped up. Tundra Esports, MOUZ, Aurora and Team Spirit topped their groups:

    The day's standout matches were:

    • Tundra Esports vs PARIVISION. Tundra once again showed there are disagreements within the team about the vision for Dota. DM, who recently left the squad, said that he and the coach departed because some players began to disregard the ideas of the new playstyle while they favored the old, more conservative approach.
    • BetBoom Team vs Rekonix. The underdogs unexpectedly took a map off BetBoom Team. Not without a fight, but sometimes that's enough to rally a roster and boost confidence — who knows what the Indonesians will show next, especially since their second opponent today was MOUZ, who remain unbeaten so far.
    • Aurora vs Team Falcons. The Falcons' problems at the recent event weren't due to lorenof: after Malr1ne returned to the lineup, things not only failed to improve but actually got worse. Aurora even won the final map in just 25 minutes! Afterwards, their match with Team Spirit ended in a draw. It's worth noting the long-awaited return — midlaner Drakonov is playing surprisingly well after his break.

ESL One Birmingham 2026 runs from March 22 to 29, 2026 in Birmingham, United Kingdom. The tournament's total prize pool is $1,000,000 — to be split among 16 teams.
